Anonymous said: What were your Top 5 movies and TV shows back when you were 10?

I really never followed TV. I pretty much just watched whatever was on. I remember watching Seinfeld everyday because it was a family regular for dinner time, but I was too young to really know what it meant but I liked it for some reason anyway. I remember being pretty upset for that season finale montage to Green Day. I probably just watched whatever cartoons were on at the time, but I didn’t follow anything religiously like kids do. Movies: Probably Scream, Total Recall, Conan the Barbarian, The Evil Dead and maybe Predator. I know that doesn’t sound like 10 year old appropriate favorites but that’s what I grew up on. I watched Conan, Total Recall and Predator non-stop as a kid. And when my parents introduced me to the Evil Dead trilogy, I just didn’t even know what hit me. I loved them. I still do. The first movie is one of my top 3 favorite movies ever. Always will be. Scream is the first horror movie that I remember changing how I watched horror movies. I never thought about horror being a real genre or thing but Scream told me horror was a world of it’s own. I was actually grounded from horror for a while because of Scream when I wore an orange ghost mask and had this Peter Pan McDonalds happy meal toy that kind of  resembled a knife and ran into my older brother’s room to scare him and he cut his leg open by falling over his chair. It wasn’t until Scream 2 that I eventually talked my mom into letting my grandmother rent it for me and lift my bar on horror.

One issue with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes:

It’s the first of the entire Apes franchise (even including the awful 2001 remake) to be shot outside of the 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
