My page for NIGHT WATCH ZINE #5 “The Puke Issue” A tribute to quite possibly my favorite movie ever, STREET TRASH. One of my favorite scenes turned into a VOMIT COMIX strip. Buy the zine and other awesome shit from NIGHT WATCH STUDIOS.
In the early 90’s Stuart Gordon almost directed the film adaption of (David Quinn and) Tim Vigil’s comic book masterpiece, Faust. Apparently Brinke Stevens was set to play the main villain’s sex obsessed girlfriend Claire. This is the only promotional proof I’ve ever found of the project.
Unfortunately, in 2000 Brian Yuzna made a mockery of the comic book with his movie. It fucking sucked. Bad.
I think only Lars Von Trier would be the only one with guts to make a true film version of the comic.
Trailer to the guys’ who made You’re Next’s newest “home from war” movie, The Guest. Trailer cut by Jason Eisener (Hobo With a Shotgun). It’s great that there’s finally people working within the genre that I can anticipate (and almost rely on) other than Tarantino these days. I’ve been saying for a while that someone needs to bring back movies in the vein of Rolling Thunder and Taxi Driver, etc.
Bonuses in trailer: full blood squib gun shot blast and synth score made from all 70’s 80’s music equipment.
In an interview with director Adam Wingard, he said:
"I have a problem when people try to emulate music from the ‘80s and they’re just using a lot of software they’ve downloaded that has an ‘80s sound, but you can tell if it’s authentic or not. That’s why I hired composer Steve Moore of the soundtrack; all of the equipment he uses are retro sets, they’re all from the ‘70s and ‘80s. They’re all definitively of that time. He’s not trying to copy anybody or recreate any sounds, he just has those sounds."
